-70%The 1998 Leinster Football Final was won by Kildare beating Meath 1-12 to 0 -10. The match was played on the 2nd August in Croke Park. Kildare pushed on from there and beat Kerry in the All- Ireland semi-final and reach their first All-Ireland final since 1935. They went into the final favourites. It wasn’t to be, and Galway got the better of them 1-14 to 1-10 on the day.
The great Mick O’ Dwyer was their Manager this year. Glenn Ryan was Captain. Kildare got 5 All Star awards this year
The Number 6 Jersey was worn by Glenn Ryan one of Kildare’s all-time greats. Glenn has two all-star wards, in 1997 and 1998 and a place on the Kildare Team of the Millennium. Glen Played for the Lilly Whites from 1990 to 2006 and won two Leinster title’s during this time.
This Jersey was designed by Cul Sliotars in partnership with Hurling for Cancer Research. €5 from each Jersey sold is donated to this great cause. This Jersey is supported by Hurling for Cancer Research and Championed by Willie McCreery and Katie Walsh to help raise funds.
