The 1989 Connacht Football Final ended up a draw the first day out. Mayo 12 to Roscommon 1-9. The match was played in MacHale Park with an attendance of 20,000 people. The replay was Played in Dr. Hyde Park and was an even better game that went to extra time with Mayo coming out on top 3-14 to 2-13. Mayo pushed on from here and beat Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi-final 12 to 1-6. They met Cork in the All-Ireland Final on the 17th September. It wasn’t Mayo’s day with Cork lifting Sam with the score board reading 0-17 to 1-11.

The number 11 Vintage Jersey that is on sale here was worn by the great Wille Joe Padden. Willie Joe played with Mayo from 1977 to 1993. Appearing in the green & red 111 times and winning 2 All-star awards.
